2 Phase Total Maxillary Rehabilitation with Bone Reconstruction and an All-on-6

A healthy 55-year-old woman attends the appointment with an almost total absence of maxillary teeth. After evaluation of the complementary exams, it was confirmed that there was horizontal bone loss, as well as bilateral pneumatization of the maxillary sinus. The patient was using a removable upper prosthesis and she wanted to change to a fixed rehabilitation.

Treatment Plan:

  • First surgery: Full horizontal maxillary bone augmentation, double nasal elevation and right molar extraction. The patient will not wear any prosthesis for 2 months.
  • 2 months later: A removable prosthesis will be made.
  • 6 months later: Planning of the guided surgery and new surgery for the placement of 6 implants with immediate load.
  • After another 6 months: The definitive hybrid prosthesis will be made.
